Event Date Probability Distributions

Supplemental file event_pdfs.txt contains the earthquake date probability distribution functions (PDFs) used in this study. The PDFs are in the form of discrete distributions where each unit is the probability of the true earthquake date falling within a multi-year wide bin centered on the given calendar date. Bins are 10 years wide except for Pallett Creek events, where they are 5 years wide. Event widths are determined by bounding layer C-14 dates. Ordering constraints, and where applied, sedimentation constraints can result in bins with zero probability. See text for sources and methods of developing these date distributions.

Pattern for all events is:
Short name for event
Number of rows to follow
Rows with two columns
-- Column 1: Center calendar year of bin.
-- Column 2: Probability of the true date of the event being in the bin
