An earthquake was recorded by the Seismological Laboratory
with a local Richter magnitude 4.2 occurring at 4:51 PST on
Tuesday, February 24. The location was approximately 40 km (25 mi)
SSE of Hawthorne NV at 38.239, 118.389, near the Excelsior Mts.,
Nevada, at a depth of 11 km (7 mi). Only one felt report has been
received at the laboratory, and that was from Mina NV. No damage
has been reported at this time and none is expected for this remote
location.

An earthquake was recorded by the Seismological Laboratory with a
local Richter magnitude 4.0 occurring at 2:08 PST on Tuesday, February
17. The location was approximately 75 km (46 mi) northwest of Reno
(39.876, -120.487), near Davis Lake, California, at a depth of 7 km (4
mi). Numerous felt reports have been received at the laboratory,
including some from Reno. No damage has been reported at this time
though.
